Incidents Of The Life
Various incidents from the life of Vaidyaraj can inspire us a lot. Let us, recollect a few such incidents.
Being an expert in Ayurveda, Shri Jagannathji always vehemently opposed fried food. and also insisted family members stay away from such unhealthy practices as they can cause adverse health issues according to Ayurveda. Due to his persistence, the women of the family never prepared fried items at home. Shri Jaggannathji was very conscious about his family’s health and never allowed them to comprise it with their eating habits.
The Gujarat Shuddha Ayurveda Mandal organized a conference in Nadiad in the year 1960. Renowned ayurvedic physicians like Sh. Rasiklal Vaidya, Sh. Somabhai Vaidya, Sh. Jadavji Vaidya Patadiwala and others approached Vaidyaraj Shri Jagannathji for his valuable contribution to the conference.
Jagannathji agreed to not just contribute but sponsor the whole event as he believed it would be a great blessing for Nadiad town and its residents. The entire conference expenses, including the lunch and dinner facility of 1000+ delegates, were taken care of by Shri Jagannath.
In 1969, a Dandi Swami who was carrying sage, had arrived in Santram Temple at Nadiad. His diet was just 3 leaves. The sage expressed his desire to conduct a Atirudra Yagna. He approached Shri Vaidyaraj Jagannathji in the hope to receive a donation for the same. Shri Vaidyaraj understood the whole plan and purpose of the sage with great patience and offered to give 11 cans of Ghee to the sage for the successful completion of the Yagna.
Shri Vaidyaraj Jagannathji was a religious and workaholic personality. He strongly opposed disobedience and dishonesty. He used to run a charitable trust dispensary where he just charged 1 paisa as a fee from patients, irrespective of their financial conditions. Many patients who got treated under his medical guidance, offered special gifts to him. But Shri Vaidyaraj Jagannathji never encouraged such practices as he was against all these materialistic things. In case he cannot return the gift, he would distribute it amongst the staff and needy. Shri Jagannathiji was a courageous soul that lived life with great integrity and dignity. He was always ready to help the underprivileged, saints, and Brahmins with great compassion. He always endorsed great simplicity in his lifestyle and urged his family to pursue the same. However, he also made sure to give comfort to his family and fulfill all his duties towards family and work. He had created a good and healthy atmosphere at work and home both.
Vaidyaraj stopped consuming salt when he was of 60 years, having just 1 meal a day, and took cold water baths 3 times a day despite the season. In 1972, he passed away at the age of ninety worshipping God, without suffering any illness. Just like his whole life, his death too was simple and serene.
Since its invention, Balsathi has already been a household name. Mothers across India showered immense trust upon Balsathi for the natural cure that it brought to their kids.
But, the fame of Balsathi is not just limited to India. It has also received acclaim overseas and found its special designated space at the Science Museum Group of the UK.
